David Dwyer is a contemporary realist artist with special interest in still life painting and pastel figure drawing. He exhibits his work locally and nationally and has been featured in the books Classical Drawing Atelier, Classical Painting Atelier, Lessons in Classical Drawing, and Lessons in Classical Painting as well as Artists’ Magazine and Artists and Illustrators Magazine.
A 2007 graduate of the Aristides Atelier at Gage Academy of Art, Dwyer is a passionate advocate for realist art education. He has served as Juliette Aristides’s teaching assistant in the Classical Atelier since 2008 and is currently a member of the teaching team in the atelier program. He leads specialized workshops for artists and educators and has actively participated in the in the Frye Art Museum’s Re-Mastered program.
